for you.

yesterday i received a calendar (and bonus pouch!) that i won off of arounna's blog. being the guilt-driven person i am, i decided to pass the favour on by hosting my own giveaway. it's true, you can choose any one of the neck warmers pictured in this post and enter to win it.

here's how to get in on the action...

1) leave a comment below.
2) state the neck warmer you would like (by colour - i know there are two greens. let's call the top one olive and the bottom one lime).
3) give me a way to get in touch with you - either leave your email in the comment or make sure it is listed in your blogger profile.

conditions:
a) i will draw on sunday night (january 10) at midnight.
b) my mother is barred from entering but can force me to make her anything she wants for free when she visits next week.
c) click the images for links to the flickr photos if you would like to know fibre contents (note: the silk/cashmeres and superwashes will be best for sensitive skin).
d) if leah enters and wins she can have that other one she wants.

wintercourse.

it finally got really cold. this is a good thing, toronto, and please stop whining about the snow (i am looking at you, nightly news). it's not charming desk patter, guys. the aughts account for the hottest canadian decade on record. that is bad. this coldsnap felt overdue and correct. besides, the snow makes everything quieter. snow might not agree with all the workings of a metropolis, but in this way, it softens the edges of the city.

reefer madness.

today shan and i went and threw the toronto hyperbolic crochet reef back into it's special trunk. it was sad. the fly gallery was a great month-long home to the reef and scott and tanya could not have been more lovely to deal with. big thanks go out tot tara, too, for hooking up the installation as part of the city of craft installation programming.

here's a bit more...

listed.

neck warmer version 2, #5 now listed on etsy.

2010 has made me take a much less flowery and much more mathematical approach to naming my crochet goods.

or.gan.ize.

warm necks for a new year.

much to my sweetie's chagrin, the kitchen table has been consumed by crafts yet again. this time, it is the new neck warmer design that has crept all over our living space.

where can you lay your mitts on one of these you ask? i will tell you.

1. the good catch general store (in toronto) was all stocked up on new year's eve.

2. i will have a whole trunk full of them at the love and rummage trunk show 2 coming up in just over a month.

3. my etsy shop. they are not there yet, but i am sorting through photos and hope to have a few primo specimens up by the end of the day (or night).

stay warm, necks of the world.

the first nice thing i did for you this decade.

hi internet. it's me, becky.

today leah came over, we sipped tea and crunched some semi-final numbers for last year's city of craft. she also encouraged me to make the desktop calendar of my semi-dreams. so i did!

it is pretty rudimentary, but it serves the purposes i have (namely: planning another big, big year) and keeps my new computer's desktop relatively simple.

my original plan was a black on white one, but i just stuck with the weird blue of the scanner in the end. there are some colour matching issues, i think, but i'm okay with that for now.

if you would like to use it for yourself (and your screen resolution happens to be 1680x1050), feel free. it is here. just don't try to sell it or pretend you made it, right?

if you would like to request a different resolution or ratio, also feel free. no promises, but i will see what i do. you are important to me, friends of the information super highway.

let's do this year right up.
