i got all the pieces remaining from my first run of awards for nothing back from
printshop forever. if you are still reading this after the months of stillness, i think you deserve one. or rather, i will give one of you one of them.
i have had a fairly rugged and blue half year, so i will selfishly ask for comments that may make me feel happier. i don't want to fish for compliments; i want to shoot them in a barrel.
here's to the endless summer that will be 2012, change, growth, rebuilding and all manner of awards for nothing.
i will pick a winner from your comments on valentine's day.
You are a beautiful woman who is also a complete and total weirdo, and that's the best.
ReplyDeleteCheers to 2012! (the summer mostly, since it's quite honestly the best part). You are a winner in my books. Love always, Sam.
ReplyDeleteHere's to 2012! I also had more than enough crap in 2011. My resolution is to be as niftily dressed as you this year, more dresses and skirts!
ReplyDeleteI want to say THANK YOU. When you first posted your crochet neckwarmers (2 years ago now, I think), I fell in love and wanted to make some for myself. And then I was sad because none of the knit patterns were nearly as nice.
ReplyDeleteI have finally learned to crochet (after many roadblocks and much confusion). I *love* it. So much more than I ever did knitting (and OH the lace I am making now).
So THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for planting the seed in my brain about crochet. I love it so.
hey becky, if it weren't for you, i wouldn't know about so many of the great things in this city (city of craft, trampoline hall, the workroom, summerworks, etc.) i wouldn't have made little hyperbolic coral reef pieces, giant pom-poms, mini fire escapes, or known about the other laurie mcgregor. i can safely say that you have enriched my life in toronto. i don't know you very well, but i have always liked the cut of your jib. thanks for all you do! hope 2012 is a better year for you. (and everyone.)

you are the only art vendor who came over to my booth to say hello at the renegade l.a.
ReplyDeleteyou are so nice and friendly :)
2011 sucked..
still waiting for better times too
Becky, when my google reader says there is a new post on your blog I get unpredictably excited (I should be able to predict by now!). I love the way you think and write about things, and can't wait for your next Brooklyn visit.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Lower Triller-slash- Green Gables. Forget weirdos, YOU are the love of my life.
ReplyDeleteI sure did miss you! Please come back to us here in blog land:) You are adored you know.
ReplyDeletei used to take great comfort in peaking out my window and spotting boris out there, illegally parked. it meant we might chat, crochet and drink bourbon into the wee hours. now i take comfort in every word you write on the internet. keep on being super!
ReplyDeleteCome back in the summer and we'll go swim in the ocean.
ReplyDeleteHeaps o' crafty delectation, presented thru bee-yoo-ti-ful photos. That's what this internet stranger thanks you for. May the year of the dragon be all RAWR, as dragons are sometimes wont to do. - Hugs from Honolulu
ReplyDeleteHi Becky,
ReplyDeleteI think you're wonderful. I'm wondering if you're still spinning. I haven't in a while myself. If you can use them I have two nice wooden bobbins I don't need that you can store singles on. I will save them in case you can use them.
xo
february? i guess it's too late to tell you i love you for being you... never mind. i'll leave this post up on my computer and maybe by chance my cat will step on the submit button.
ReplyDeleteI hope this year is going much better for you. I find that when I get involved in creating, it temporarily takes me away from my problems/concerns - and is a happy place for me. Love what you do with security envelopes!
ReplyDeleteAnd if you aren't getting comments it could be because people (like me) can't see those 2 words and have to go get a different browser to comment. Too much trouble!
